PunBB Description

PunBB is a lightweight, fast, and PHP-powered discussion forum. It is licensed under the GNU General Public License. Its primary goals include being smaller, faster, and less graphically-intensive than other discussion boards. PunBB is a smaller discussion board than other boards. However, it has fewer features and produces smaller, semantically correct XHTML compliant pages. PunBB is written in PHP. It requires the PHP: Hypertext Processor. PunBB requires a database to store forum data. PunBB supports MySQL and PostgreSQL for this purpose. Private messaging, file attachments and polls are some of the features I have not yet implemented. Other features include linking to off-site avatars and advanced text formatting controls. Subforums are another example. Although the jury is still out on some features, don't be surprised if they do not appear anytime soon. However, most of these features, if not all, have been implemented in third-party mods.
