Comment Spam Backlash Bloggers Get Revenge and Act Childish

Now I have a gripe to share...

It seems that I have been blacklisted for posting a few comments on some blogs.

This pisses me off because it was not spam and the posts were genuine responses to what I read in the blogs.

All I did was use my web site name as my name and linked to my site. Is that so bad?

Apparently some juvenile bloggers are so anal about people posting urls on their blogs that they are blindly penalizing and blacklisting people because they felt violated.

Give me a friggin' break! I say the more comments the better on my blog and hey go ahead and pimp your URL - who cares? As long as your message isn't about Viagra or putting inches on your tool, I don't care if you drop a plug in for your site - if the comments are relevant that's ok with me.

This goes for forums too. I have seen hostility directed at people who make legit posts and they get shit because they included a url in the post or a signature. So what? What is wrong with self promotion?

If you ask me it's the old abuse of power thing... give an idiot too much power and they will abuse it - just like with the Iraqi prisoners being humiliated... Some assholes simply can't help berating or punishing other people. They do it because it makes them feel superior. They crave the power.

They must have been the kids cravig attention and not getting it.

Look at me look at me! Please someone notice me

I say get a friggin' life anal blog people and don't sweat the details. Be kind to your visitors.

Be kind to the people that visit your web site. Be kind to the people who take the time to write worthwhile comments in your blog or forum.

Don't go and bad mouth people who you disagree with.

And if you don't want the PUBLIC to look at your blog, much less comment... then post a notice that says FRIENDS ONLY or something to that effect. Otherwise assume it will be looked at and commented upon.

Karma will come back to haunt you.

#1 cardinal rule is just do unto others as you would have dem do unto u.

Be nice. Can't we all just get along??? Get off the power trip and be a productive member of society! Get a job as a cop, or prison guard.... Sorry, there are good people doing those jobs.

OK, enough of this rant. Time for you to tell me where to stick it! Please give me some comments and feel free to stick your PLUG in there! I don't mind!

I welcome the comments and input of the community, so please let me know what you think!

Shows On TV

Press Release excerpt:

ShowsOnTV.com Launches New Television and Celebrity Search Engine Directory and Portal

From TV programs of the past, present and future, to the stars that appear in them, Shows On TV delivers targeted web site search results based on a unique meta ranking formula unlike any other search engine or directory.

Studio City, CA April 30, 2004

ShowsOnTV.com boasts an impressive in house database of entertainment related web sites, whose URL's and Descriptions are ingeniously blended with the results of top search engines and directories, such as the highly respected Open Directory Project. Web site rankings are based on scores, which are tabulated on the fly at lightning fast speeds. Rankings are based on a formula incorporating a number of factors including how many of the search engines and directories list each of the pages, multiplied by the position of each page and the weight of each ranking engine. Unlike other "meta search engines" that simply separate the results and sort them by engine, ShowsOnTV.com returns a blended list of 40 entertainment related web sites per page, based on the keywords the visitor inputs in the search box.

According to Shows On TV Webmaster Mike Liebner, "Our search results are especially relevant to the person looking for articles, current information, breaking news and resources on specific TV Shows and celebrity appearances on television. Not only are the results optimized to deliver the best web pages relating to TV, but we take it a step further and present our visitors with a huge assortment of popular search phrases specifically relating to celebrities and TV shows. This makes finding the exact information you are looking extremely accurate and most importantly a fun experience for the web site visitor."

Far from looking like just another boring plain search engine, ShowsOnTV boasts an attractive and playful design yet still offering the user a simple and effective navigational interface. In addition to the exclusive database and search ranking formula, ShowsOnTV.com also offers it's visitors themed directory pages with human edited listings of web page submissions for news, articles, photos, video and wallpapers. Each directory page relates to a genre or theme. Currently the themes include both broad genres and categories such as Reality TV, Situation Comedies and Crime Dramas, to specific directories for individual TV shows, as well as directories for celebrities, actors, actresses and entertainers who have appeared on television.

Webmaster Mike Liebner offers "ShowsOnTV.com thrives on the input of our visitors and other webmasters and we encourage our visitors to submit links to articles, news stories, web site links and just about anything relating to each of our TV Show and Celebrity directory pages. Our database of information is the key to our success and we invite our visitors to help us build it! We also encourage anyone to submit their original articles, commentaries and recaps, which we will feature the best of on our site."
