jawtheshark's Journal: Sometimes I'm just crazy

Christmas didn't start well for me: on christmas day this thing I dreaded for long happened. My ethernet card of my old laptop broke. Actually, only the dongle...but try finding a dongle for a five year old PCMCIA NIC. So, the only solution I had was to go hunting for a new 16-bit PC-Card NIC.
So on this beautiful snowy 27th december, I went shopping. Unfortunately the IT Gods were not on my side: the first shop was closed (long live holiday season), the second one was outta stock (Damn!) and finally my last hopes went for the local computer superstore. They had a pc-card, unknown brand, and I wanted to buy it ,but since I run Linux on that laptop, I had brought it to test it. Result: they opened the box and behold...there was no network card in it. Go figure.
Unfortunately they had no other (not too expensive) network cards...but my I already got interested in something new. Something about which I had been thinking of since quite some months. I coudn't resist...I didn't want to resist! There she was, virgin-white and sexy all at once. So I succumbed to the tentation: I bought an iBook!
My first Mac...I didn't think I'd ever do that...but I did...yes...I'm crazy...but sometimes it feels good to be crazy.
