So. Never been much for journals, myself, but I figure I might as well give this a shot, considering recent developments. Long story short, at long last I finally gained access to a computer that I could use for a linux box (Ubuntu- gotta start somewhere). Eventually I start plugging things in. Mouse connects easily, no problems there. Bluetooth dongle connects great- better than Windows. Eventually, I get to plugging in my printer- HP Photosmart 7320, a real dinosaur. Last time I tried messing with this printer, I spent half an hour finding, downloading and installing drivers for it. When I plugged it in to the 'Buntu box, though, it merely opened a prompt that told me it was ready for printing. Sure enough, one test doc later and it was running like a dream. I suppose I shouldn't be so surprised that Linux outperformed Windows so badly, but here we are. More experimentation in future!
