Journal Journal: Windows XP

Well, I just installed Windows XP and am disapointed but optomistic. Granted many people here will tell me I shouldn't use Windows, but I am, so deal with it. At any rate, within an hour, XP crashed. But that's the only time so far which is good. Meanwhile I've joined a MUSH, which is fun. Its good to have something to do, and this definitely provides just that. Anyhow...after 2am...mind ceasing to function...need sleep. Goodnight. --Wrath

Journal Journal: Boredom and Loneliness

01.27.2002 03:41 EST -- Yes, its almost 4am, and technically the 28th, but I date it the 27th because I have not yet slept. "How can I feel alone even when the world surrounds me?" - Dream Theater I feel aweful. Frankly, the only comfort I'm getting is from /dev/null when she hops up onto my lap and squeaks at me. She's a real sweety, and truely helps me at times. Like the song says, its mighty silly that I'm even the least bit depressed, but that doesn't change it. I'm lonely in that way that only a signifigant other can fill. Meanwhile I hang out with Andy and Sarah who are dating, and that doesn't make things any easier. Still, its nice to hang out with people. For a strange change of pace, I explained a bit of Paganism -- as best as I understand it -- to Andy. Most of my understanding comes from explaination from Fox...and thank the Gods for her. She's helped me through more than one tough time...that much I can tell you. "So much safer here, a place where I can go to forget my daily sins." - Mike Portnoy I often think bad things, don't I? Often think them, but seldom do them. Still is the thought in and of itself a bad thing? A sin? It seems to me that perhaps my biggest sin is that of dependance and need. /dev/null takes the brunt of it. At night when I feel especially alone, I lay down and grab her like a teddy bear. She really doesn't seem to mind...just lays there for a while and purrs. When she gets sick of it she just gets up and walks off...I'm not holding her hard. *shrug* Dev is the greatest. I'm so glad she's with me now. Anyhow, its awefully late and I have things to do tomorrow, so I'm going to go to bed. Good night. --Wrath

Journal Journal: Website Updated

01.26.2002 23:06 EST -- Well, I just finished updating my website, not that many of you really care. Its just a personal website...something to view only if you're bored as you'll not learn anything new from it. But hey...its all mine. Oh, and some new pictures have been added. When I get new batteries for my digital camera, I'll add some pictures of /dev/null. She's really cute when she's not hiding. She's hiding right now because she finally caught that pizza crust she was attacking and bit it and hurt herself because it was stale. Oops. --Wrath

Journal Journal: Welcoming New Members of the Family

01.26.2002 21:41 EST -- We may now officially welcome a few members to the family. Welcome to my network: Conundrum, who has recently been resurected from the dead. Thought to be totally cooked due to what appears to be a bad CMOS chip, Conundrum is once again running -- hense the name. It is a pentium II 233 box with 64 mb of ram and a 6gb hard drive running FreeBSD 4.4. Please also welcome Void, a pentium I 133 box with 32 mb of ram and a 6gb hard drive running Linux RedHat 7.2. Void is a rescuee from my parents' house. My sister abused the hell out of that box, and my mother drove it to the brink of extinction. Still, I have salvaged it. Since I am new to this journal, I may as well list the computer I am currently running on. Meet Wasteland, a pentium III ghz box with 384 mb ram and two 76 gb hard drives and all sorts of other toys running Windows 2000 Advanced Server + Service Pack 2. Please also welcome my new Rapier into my family of swords -- it will be a nice addition to my all. And a very special welcome to /dev/null. /duv/null is my cat. She is 8 years old, and came to me not long ago with the name Nicole. However, since she seems intensely interested in everything I do with my computers, I deem her a computer nerd just like me, and rename her /dev/null. She seems to be adjusting well, and is currently playing with [read: killing] a stale piece of pizza crust. I shall close with a joke. Q: "Why do the new iMacs have handles on them?" A: "So you can throw them farther." --Wrath
