Comment 500 is the best game. (Score 1) 274

500 has been intentionally left out of this poll as if it was included it would win out right. I have settled for hearts instead as it is enjoyable and for the most part brainless entertainment. Poker can be fun but I prefer not to gamble. Chess is a completely different game and I'll stick to the cards.

While you outline a scam by a woman which is relevant to this article, for comparison, of female started projects, how many are scams and vice versa? I would be willing to bet there are more male scammers out there (proportionally) than females, just as males are more likely to commit crime.

Sexist is discrimination based on gender that causes harm. Sexist is caring about something like this that does not affect you directly.

We should all be neutral about this. It is a fact, it is an observation and there is not necessarily a motive behind it (although for some there might be). Sex sells and the whole world is buying. If women earned more than men there would be no need for child support.

For the large part most feminists are as sexist as those they oppose, and in every walk of life (whether it be to do with race, gender, religion, politics or sport etc.) those that hold convictions are seeking dominance over others. If we look at the positive of every action, the outcome is more likely to be good for everyone.

We should marvel and cherish those who have been able to achieve greatness and hopefully with the winnings of their efforts they will realise that others have supported them, that others have helped them achieve and they will give back to others, whether in life or at death.

And while debate, free expression and constructive criticism are necessary and virtuous, rousing feelings of anger is not. Whether in yourself or others.

If without sounding like a conspiracy theorist too much, there is a small group of people controlling the world, which it seems, technology such as this leads to a weapon greater than the nuclear bomb. Until there is peace for at least a generation we can not be trusted to do this. However, it would appear that we also need this to survive.

The current dichotomy between power and freedom is unbalanced. Balance is what is needed. But as we live in the silent crusade, where only 10 nations are not engaged in border disputes, a scenario such as the world of Snowpiercer, The Matrix or, all those other dystopias is what I feel will result. But then again the only hope for peace is to ignore the cynic within.

May his greatness Elon Musk deliver us to the heavens and bring peace to all.

Sure he might have some silly ideas on what to do, that's why he is asking for your advice. But saying he should take a personal laptop isn't the solution. The reason he is probably looking for an answer is because he doesn't want to lug two laptops around!

I would think if your company denies you access to news sites and facebook etc. while you're away in your own time, that's a little harsh. But if the OP is just wanting to look at porn while he is away... come on, surely you can go without a few days!

While clearly Google could just turn around and canibalise the idea, this may help Canonical's growth with businesses.

A company could provide certain employees who don't need fast machines a simple work phone. Anywhere they could communicate and work on the same device.

Lets face it, the idea of the pocket computer is the future. The people who will be most happy if this succeeds would probably be ARM chip makers. Maybe Mark Shuttleworth is trying to setup his company to be bought by Google now.

Banshee, Mono May Be Dropped From Ubuntu Default 255

itwbennett writes "The Banshee music application, and Mono, the open source implementation of Microsoft's .NET framework, on which Banshee is dependent, may be excluded from the next release of Ubuntu. In 'a blog entry titled Bansheegeddon,' Banshee and Mono developer Joseph Michael Shields says the reasons given for the change are that Banshee is 'not well maintained' and 'porting music store to GTK3 is blocked on banshee ported to GTK3.' Other reasons mentioned but not in the session logs are complaints that it doesn't work on ARM. Ubuntu Community Manager Jono Bacon pointed out in a blog post that the decision to drop Banshee, Mono or other apps that are dependent on Mono has not been finalized. But the blogosphere is lit up with speculation that this is a deliberate move to exclude Mono because of its emulation of Microsoft .NET."
