Submission + - British MP calls for pornography 'opt-in' (bbc.co.uk) 2

Robadob writes: Internet providers should create an "opt-in" system to prevent children gaining access to pornography, a Conservative MP has said.

Claire Perry wants age-checks to be attached to all such material to reduce exposure to it.

The mother-of-three, who has prompted a Commons debate on the issue, said internet firms should "share the responsibility" of protecting children.

Comment Re:Everything but the first two films? (Score 1) 256

If I remember correctly, and it is a little fuzzy, I almost fell asleep 20 minutes into the 4th film. It was poorly plotted, full of massive plot holes (why do terminators need hundreds of LCD screens and why not have the terminator kill Kyle as soon as he met him?). The Christian Bale part seemed shoehorned into the film in the extreme (born out by reports that came out afterwards). There was no sense of jeopardy for the characters and the ending was telegraphed a mile off.

Submission + - Scotty Heads for the Final Frontier

refitman writes: "The BBC reports that Mr Scott's (James Doohan) remains have been launched into space. James's ashes were sent about 70 miles above the earth on a private SpaceLoft XL rocket. Before the launch, his widow Wende said "While 'Scotty' lived this, Jimmy lived for this,".

Launching a single gram of ashes costs $495 (£248), while sending remains into deep space, a service which comes into effect from 2009 will cost up to $12,500 (£6,257)."
