Anything which mentions 'running as admin' clearly exists in a post-XP universe, because otherwise there aren't other users, so is inherently poorly-designed. Unless it came out in that microscopic window where XP was first released and it was quickly and poorly updated, no, that's inexcusable.

post xp? haven't you whippersnappers ever heard of Windows NT? there were ordinary users & administrators there. now get off my lawn!

I remember a bond trader telling me about a machine that was designed to allow an individual to sign multiple bonds at the same time. Apparently, all the bonds issued needed to be signed by one person (presumably the treasurer of the company issuing said bonds) This device had a bunch of pens attached to it. He manipulated one, and his signature was replicated on a bunch of bonds at once.

Because of madoff, thousands will suffer through the last years of their lives living from social security check to check, will not have access to the medications they need or the mobility required to live a healthy senior life.

Madoff was evil, but this is nonsensical. The people he stole from were rich, and even losing fortunes in Madoff's scams and the stock markets, still have more than enough money for their personal needs.

How do you know the finances of everyone who invested with Madoff? Just because people aren't living in their mothers basement eating ramen noodles, doesn't make them rich. Sure, his high profile clients were rich. Hollywood types, doctors, lawyers. but there were lots of ordinary people who had their retirement funds with him and lost everything. it's disingenuous to excuse all of his clients as fat-cats that could afford to lose millions.

I suppose there *is* the slight possibility that someone just appended the "Visit www.itsbetterwithwindows.com to find out more" to the uk asus website. I didn't find that link on the global website. wouldn't they want the whole world to experience windows? or perhaps they just want to foist it on the poor brits?
