Yes indeed that's true. Sometimes you have to use hacks etc because of external libraries etc which can't modified. Then comments are good. In those cases we always start our comments with 'WHY:' or 'HACK:' to clearly indicate the reason for the comment.Not always. Sometimes you need to do something that looks really ass-backwards, and that may take a bit of commenting.
