Practically speaking and forgetting every small petty argument.
What would it take to make ubuntu (Or any other linux Distro) a mainstream desktop OS. (Highlight DESKTOP)
If you were in charge of it or could give it direction what would you do to make it work, accepted and profitable.
I am hoping this will be an interesting exercise.
or is the government just letting it thrive. I cannot imagine that software could be so self aware that upon being aware of its presence competent people cannot figure out a way to stop it once and for all or at least secure vulnerable systems from it.
and we are creative. I am sure with enough brain power we will come up with a way to not get them attention but actually embarrass the shit outta em. not that they have any shame.

when i buy windows i go lenovo. the machines are still built like tanks and work fantastic.
i actually convinced my boss to let me buy a lenovo in a company of dells. mind you others are or may be better but lenovo just works perfectly for me. my x61s has been running solid for 3 years now and i just got the x201 which should tide me through for another couple of years.
if in the ultra portable space try the x220 (to be released soon) otherwise try the T series. u cant go wrong with either option.
For the AC above. checkout the x220
