Comment PC Lint anyone? (Score 3, Informative) 470

Back in the day when I was doing C++ work, I used a product called PC Lint (http://www.gimpel.com/html/pcl.htm) that did basically the same thing STACK does. Static Analysis of code to find errors such as referencing NULL pointers, buffer over flows, etc... Maybe they should teach History at MIT first...

ArcadeNut writes: In this day and age when companies like Google are working on self driving cars, why don't we have self driving Trains? The recent tragedy in Spain with the high speed train was attributed to operator error. With GPS and other technologies, why couldn't the train have known it was going too fast for that part of the track and taken over? It's not like the track layout changes that often. If not Auto Drive, at least Auto Pilot or "Crash Detection" like a lot of modern automobiles have.
