Emphasis is mine. It looks like Marketing might want to talk to Legal here...
Why release your work for free? Does freedom feed you at the end of the day? Does it pay for your rent?
I paid $10 for it... that wasn't free.
You really think Apple won't incorporate any of Lala's streaming services into a cloud based version of iTunes? Really?
Might, might not. Did they need to buy Lala to do that? Not likely.
Using your argument from above (essentially, buy out a competitor before it presents itself as a real opponent in the market), this makes a lot of sense. If--and this is a big 'if'--Apple plan(s/ned) to integrate paid music streaming into its business model, then why not take out one of the up-and-coming competitors while picking up some of their IP and maybe their most talented staff?
That's what I'd do, anyway.
By all accounts the city's network worked flawlessly the entire time.
I was there at the time and it did work flawlessly. Terry Childs might be an egotistical ass, but apparently knew what he was doing.
found Howard Dean, 64, of Locke, bilked the state Treasury of about $230,000 by skipping work at the state's Food Production Center in Rome every Friday for 17 years but claiming the hours on his time cards
Maybe they should look at the management during his time there as well? Just a friendly suggestion...
...but trust me when I say that the set {wives} is not a proper subset of the set {people you have sex with}.
lol... okay, okay. You win 1 internets with that comment.
To you, a "mate" is a friend, to us, a mate is someone you have sex with.
Fixed that for you.
Though in a perfectly sane world, the police would never have become involved in the first place.
We takes what we can gets in this new world of uber-paranoia.
I know I'm happy with the result. In School Suspension not juvenile detention!
Holy piss... that made a rhyme. Huh...
Okay, fine. I'll rewrite the subject... ahem.
Not that this matters to most users, but Firefox is incredibly annoying to manage in an enterprise environment when compared to other browsers. This single factor turned me off to Firefox entirely over the past few years (i.e. as other competitive browsers became available).
only legally empowered to request the number of occupants of a place, name, age, sex, race, phone number, marital status, and how/why you're living there are extraneous questions they can ask
Are you missing a semi-colon someplace? After 'occupants of a place' perhaps?
... humanities...
Dammit... humanity's... stupid Slashdot not allowing editing...
But they don't need my name, or how many bathrooms i have.
I filled out the census and, um, they didn't ask for that.
---- Booth was a patriot ----
All hail... Brutus? Seriously, wtf? If that said, "Jefferson Davis was a patriot," I wouldn't blink, but really? Are you really suggesting that John Wilkes Booth was a patriot? Do you mean it in the strictest definition of the word or as some far reaching commentary on humanities political landscape right now? Huh... just blew my fuggin' mind with that one...
