Comment And here I thought we were.. (Score 1) 1277

Hmm and all this time I thought we actually were a Republic.. The pledge of allegiance even says so (note the to the republic part): "I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

NIST 800-88, Read it.. Love it! Modern hard drives have the command for data destruction built in the form of Secure Erase (http://cmrr.ucsd.edu/people/Hughes/SecureErase.shtml) Block writing went out with the '90s and unless you are using a drive that is that old block writes are nothing more then a waste of time. Heck the old DoD 5220.22M even calls on the NIST standard these days. Read up on it!

As Linux takes over in the back rooms, the number of staff required to maintain the systems, reduces. This trend has been ongoing for years. Now that Linux is moving onto desktops and laptops, the trend is bound to accelerate. Microsoft types are doomed and need to upgrade their burger flipping skills.

Yeah I'm sure those end users that can't figure out the difference between a left and right click will find linux easier to use. I'm not too worried about being out of a job because of linux, in fact it just gives me something else to maintain.
