As much as I loathe the fact that the previous administration abused wiretapping, maybe it's a necessary evil? I don't know all of the history of wiretapping, but I imagine that the FBI and other law enforcement agencies used it to capture dangerous criminals in the past and are currently doing it in the present. As long as a warrant is obtained, I don't see why it would be illegal. Of course there will be abuse, but don't throw out a tool simply because it can be abused. Many things in life can be abused. Does that warrant their expulsion from society? Alcohol is abused, but should it be done away with? Probably a stretch of an analogy, but it works. Law enforcement, however, should not be allowed to wiretap without a warrant. Fighting terrorism, whether foreign against foreign or domestic, should not be an excuse for illegal wiretaps.

Maybe that has something to do with the fact that more phone calls coming into the White House say don't support the stimulus package than ones that say support it...something like a ratio of 100:1. Yet all of the senate democrats and Barack Obama support it?

What about those who don't want channels like MTV, BET, MSNBC, DISNEY, or other channels that I think are stupid an I don't watch? Do nerds on Slashdot not like sports? Granted, some content on ESPN sucks, but some nerds like me, and my coworkers like to watch sports on ESPN. The problem will only be fixed by cable and satellite providers allowing people to pick and choose what channels they want, not by eliminating channels based on minority opinion.

I know I'll get voted down for this, but what about some of the people who voted for Obama because they trust him and don't care about asking the questions?

I'm not saying that everyone did that, but what about those who said "I won't have to worry about buying gas..." and other things?

What about fixing the financial crisis? He says he's going to get us out of it by increasing the budget deficit and spending money. Shouldn't there be a little more questioning of what he wants to do?

I concur. A while ago I purchased a couple cheap LCDs. I noticed that the LCDs at my university were easier on my eyes than my home LCDs. I sold my LCDs to my parents who I knew wouldn't be on the computer for any long lengths of time. I bought a couple HP LCDs that were recommended to me and they make a world of difference. This isn't an ad for HP, just simply stating that cheaper LCDs probably cause some kind of eye strain compared to a little more pricey (yet not horribly expensive) LCDs.
