This is a true story. Wow, this is the first new thing I've written in quite a long time.

Just some more filler while I sit around my house failing to write anything new. Not only is this a cover, but it's old! I did it in late November or December... can't remember. Much like a couple other things I recorded but never posted, this is something I listened to again after a while, after having decided not to post it. Well, again, I figure "what the hell," because it has something interesting about it... it's like the mix sounds painfully scewed.

Every year during the Christmas holidays (well for the past 2 years anyway), my brother and I have recorded a Christmas song for fun, that we then mix into a humorous music video... The video's a "work in progress," but here's the MP3. If/when the video gets done, the YouTube link will be posted here.

This is kinda old, actually. I wrote it about 6 months ago but didn't post it because I didn't think it was any good. Well, I listened to it again today and figured I'd just post it anyway, since it's been quite a while since anything's been posted. The only part I kinda like is the harmonica/guitar part.

This is just a straightforward folk song I wrote last night and recorded today. I didn't know I had this kind of optimism in me

Another Neil Young cover, "After the Gold Rush" from the album of the same name. I sound out of breath a couple times
I had fun with the ending, as I often like to do.

2nd demo of the same song I posted the other day, this time recorded with electric rather than semi-acoustic guitar.

This is a rather long song I just recorded today. It's 9:21 minutes to be exact. I was trying to imitate someone/something; see if you can guess

2 Neil Young covers:
Thrasher (from Rust Never Sleeps) and The Needle and the Damage Done (from Harvest).
This is a weird song I just recorded.

Didn't have much time to record this today, but I wanted to at least bang it out. Another (hopefully better) recording will come soon.

This is the second demo of 'Autumn (Fall)' which I wrote last year. It's a tad experimental compared to the last rendition.

This is really more of a song fragment than a song, as it really needs a lot of work and may be reworked entirely at some point.
Oh well. The point of this blog isn't to produce masterpieces, it's just to bang out what's in my head and get it "on paper." All too often I get a riff or tune in my head only to lose it soon afterwards because I didn't record it and forgot about it.

This is the first song I've written in

First entry of the new year. Scrapped last year's stuff in a fit of rage. It's still up on http://www.arklinux.org/~poprocks though.
At any rate, this is a cover of the great BSS's Major Label Debut.
