This is exactly why I just put a deposit down for my Nexus. I'm getting an unbranded, unlocked phone in Canada, with no contract. My other options are to go through Bell or Virgin Mobile if I want a discount, but frankly, I'm done with contracts. They won't even let you buy it outright. I'll buy this outright, and shop around all the providers and see who wants to give me the best month to month deal. Service sucks? See ya.. Spotty coverage? Bye..

I disagree. Knol was released as beta in July of 2008, and Wave was opened up in May of 2009. Gears...2007? Not really *new* projects. I think Google used to get caught up in the acquisition game, but with the direction that they're taking with Google+, they are re-defining themselves. They still acquire companies, and make stuff in house, but they have much more of a focus now...not a shotgun approach from the past.

It's incredible to read how some people are already writing off g+ because of the real-name fiasco, or that because g+ pissed off the "early adopters", it's bound to fail. It's been around for a few months, they still don't have anything to set up events, and no real options for businesses...yet they *still* have over 40 million users.. The reason it might look "boring" to some, is because not everyone posts things publicly..90% of the things I post are to my circles, not to the public..So to look at my page, it may seem as there's no activity. As a poster name Brandon said, "Please read the report again; it skyrocketed by 1,200% before falling 60%, meaning it has still grown 480% since it was invitation-only. Your claim that it has fallen back to pre-open-enrollment is unsubstantiated. Thank you. Brandon" -hugh nicks-

"Microsoft and Intel are becoming increasingly frustrated with a number of standards-setting working groups that never seem to get anything done." In other news, local Spammers Union 165 rallied the troops during their bi-quarterly meetings in Civic Hall today. Apparently, they're taking their fight all the way to the steps of congress. Said one gentleman, who refused to divulge his name, "We're just honest folk, making an honest living. Why don't you parasites take your hate crimes somewhere else? Hate crimes!"
