One of the difficulties I face as someone with bad eyesight is "mobile friendly" sites that disable zooming–it's a usability nightmare. A font like this would be impossible for me to read without the ability to zoom, and as you mentioned, it looks terrible when you zoom in. I could live with it, but I think there are better alternatives.

As an aside, if you have disabled zooming on your sites or know someone has, please re-enable it for us visually impaired folk.

Which still results in someone simply needing to find a hash = hash(password+salt). No matter how many characters you throw at it, as long as you're relying on some form of hash, only the output has to be the same and that is all.

The latest gens of macs are already using something like this. I can manage apps/windows with four fingers, use three fingers for navigation, two for contextual menus and document manipulation. It's not fully customizable, and it isn't entirely native (not all apps make use of gestures), but I think it is clear evidence that technology is moving this way anyhow.

Personally, I'd like an agnostic input surface that can be used for keyboard input and multitouch gestures. That way, I don't have to move my hands anywhere to change from one function to another.

I'm hoping we'll see calculation times down to a grand quantum tick before I die.

p.s. for the life of me I can't remember the name of that valley of time you enter if you slice thin enough. Pratchett fans?

Holy cow I just had an idea! What if we made a way for news agencies to post little "abstracts" of their articles in one central "page" Then we could link these abstracts to a full-fledged article. This way, people could browse all of the articles at once. No more flipping pages looking for flipping articles.

OT: I thought of a riddle: how many faces do two sh*t faced lawyers have if they're two-faced?

The same goes for movies projected in 3D using polarized light: as long as you wear the glasses, your sighted eye will only see one picture and you won't be able to tell the difference (it'll look just like a normal movie to you).

That's my problem with this tech-it looks just like any other 3D to me, it's nothing special. At least this is one area in which I won't be overcome by my obsession with new tech. Hopefully by the time this tech becomes commonplace they'll have figured out a way to stop this from inducing headaches in those of us who cannot process the effect.

I'd love to give you my ideas on the matter, but I'm worried you might steal them. Maybe if you email me your ideas I can tell you whether they're worth getting an expert opinion on.
