You are an idiot
1. How can tiny amounts of CO2 in the atmosphere affect the global temperature ?
There is only 0.039% CO2. CO2 must then have some enormous heating mechanism.
Has this heating been confirmed in the lab and/or is there a physical explanation ?
2. The weather-forecasters doesn't seem to be able to predict how much rain there
will be in, say, 2 days, with high accuracy. Yet, they claim there will be 30% more rain in
30 years. Why is the accuracy higher for long-term forecasts ? The same goes for
temperature.
If we know what causes the warming, we will be more capable of predicting how it will
evolve in the future. So of course it matters if it's anthropogenic or not.
6 TeraFlops is not much, it will not be close to even a 500th place at top500.org.
I realize it's new technology, but it is a bit too early to call it a supercomputer.
I wouldn't use the word fascinating. We should worry if the climate gets colder. Historically that has meant
a lot of suffering for humans. Warm climate is good.
That's very well said Mashdar, thanks for this
Why not hold the release until the bug is fixed ?
"Climate encompasses the statistics of temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, wind, rainfall, atmospheric particle count and numerous other meteorological elements in a given region over long periods of time. Climate can be contrasted to weather, which is the present condition of these same elements over periods up to two weeks." Wikipedia.
You are saying the the complexity of weather is far too complex for our super-computers. This is evidently right since they can't accurately predict temperature for
next days weather.
How is it possible to predict that the temperature will rise globally with 2 degrees celsius in the next 50 years ? There should be some huge error
bars rendering the results useless.
But you know people would volunteer nonetheless.
Yeah, and *none* of these being even remotely qualified or even sane enough for the job. Who's willing to throw his very existence away for a few weeks or months on Mars just has no idea what he's actually talking about and very probably has many other illusions as well. You're not really thinking that you can successfully train someone to do the year-long transfer flight to Mars just to die there? You'd risk that they would be *begging* to do just a fly-around and come back instead after they've been through this. Everyone sane enough to manage that task would be too sane to do a one-way mission.
These tough guys from the US army want to go on a one-way mission: http://www.universetoday.com/2008/05/26/one-way-mission-to-mars-us-soldiers-will-go/
