Are you kidding me? Where in the article does it say anything about a Union worker saving the machines? If unions were in charge of the machines I think they would have been destroyed based on the quote below (which is actually from the article).

“It’s absurd that in a 21st-century New York, we would go back and vote on machines first used in the 19th century when Tammany Hall controlled the elections,” said Dick Dadey, the executive director of Citizens Union. “The voter confusion that’s going to be caused is unfathomable.”

I bought my kids old Android phones (droid incredibles) for $50 on ebay. They have Bad ESNs so I don't have to worry about activating the phone part, but they are able to play any Android game, watch youtube, surf the web, take pictures and video, and listen to music. The phones also have a replaceable battery and an SD card slot. It is a great way to get a inexpensive MP3 player with tons of features.

And when the option to keep your private stuff private is removed without your knowledge?

This doesn't make any sense. If all your private stuff is only in your head, then how is it "removed without your knowledge"? I think the point of the GP was that if you don't want others to know about something, then:
1. don't do it in public where others can see it
2. don't do it in private in front of a webcam
3. don't put it on the internet, (ie Dropbox, Facebook, Google, Apple)

I am sure there are others, but the point is, keep your private stuff to yourself and you have nothing to worry about.

People who are surprised that Google, Apple, Facebook and others share their personal data are funny. Don't give them your personal data in the first place and they will have nothing to share.

The reason I voted to abolish is because tying a wage to anything other than a companies profits will do nothing but put the company out of business or get people fired.

You raise the wage and you raise the cost to the company. If the company profits do not also raise to cover the extra cost then they have to make up the difference some other way. Since a company can not raise the cost of their services because of competition they have to cut costs. The biggest cost to any company is usually employees, so they end up firing a few employees to make up the cost difference. Now they are less effective and not able to compete because they have less workers and they lose revenue. Now the cycle continues.

Having an arbitrarily decided minimum wage is bad.

What is the end result of human evolution? (i.e. if humans continue to evolve for another million or more years what will we look like, what abilities will we have? Will we be powerful enough to create life in our own image? create a planet, galaxy, or universe of our own? manipulate matter with out minds? teleport? shed our physical bodies?)

I am interested in your thoughts on this and how it differs from Christians belief in a supreme being.

I was at the theater just this last weekend and some idiot walks in 10 minutes late with a flashlight and starts shining it around to find seats. Then they (he and his kids) find seats at the very front, and about every 5 minutes or so one of the kids turns on the flashlight. I wanted to pull out my hair. I should have complained, but because it was a kids show at the dollar theater I gave them some leeway.
