Journal Journal: Underground Net

Does anyone realize that we are allowing ourselves to be sheparded into the new millenium age with the gradual control of the Net going over to the government?

The massive arms race has begun. It pits programers and codies against the law makers in an cold war style tug-of-war. They develop a new law to protect us from the "evil" things out there, and the "evil" things we can do, but in return take some of our rights away. In return we find new and expansive ways to evade their laws. The cycle continues.

We're going to hell in a handbasket people, its only a matter of time.

Journal Journal: Snowball Effect

Has anyone ever noticed that so much of rights are being removed simply because of our emotions? Its a nice trick when you think about it. Use a people own thoughts and feelings to push forward an agenda you had planned all along. It makes me wonder if we really learned our lessions from McCarthyism. I think the answer is we did, but we learned the wrong lesson. The government realized that people could be enormously powerful when they felt strongly about something. Now this is an amazing tool. If your city. country is attack, why not ally yourself with the victims and use their feelings to create a trust with those people. Then you don't even have to convince them because they think your fighting for them.
Its a strange world we live in.
