I'm sorry, that's just an insane ruling. REQUIRING a company to manufacture a specific product???

Oh no, that's not crazy. The crazy thing that will never be allowed is for people to be free to purchase the drug from any producer in the world that wants to provide it. Freedom is just crazy talk.

Controlling companies benefitting from a legally protected market is entirely predictable.

Vague specs are bad. But.. there is little I hate more than when they go the other route and try to fill in all the techical details. I've received a lot of specs that already included things like database schema complete with really bad table implementations and duplicated data all over the place.

The worst is no specs but a halfway implementation that self contradictory. "Here, implement this." There's no way to fill in the blanks and make it work, but if you change anything, it's "But I gave you the implementation!".

Weird as it sounds, you might be able to count yourself lucky. At least this company described here is re-setting expectations in a drastic and somewhat realistic manner halfway through the quarterly debacle. Instead, the management could hold steady 75% of the way through, then squeeze the developers for 90 hour weeks for three months "because you all are behind, and we have to make good on commitments, even if late".

You people are so terribly healthy. They actually reset expectations *before* the deadline? Don't you know that all failures are *caused* by those who point them out?

In my experience the usual way is for everyone to pretend everything is on time, fire anyone who hints otherwise, then blame the contractors. Another possibility is the big wig Potemkin Demo, followed by a reorg where the frauds leave the group, and the peasants left behind are executed for "breaking the code".

One time cost for you, with the senior center paying for the wifi service.

I've got the tmobile plan "unlimited" plan. It's not bad for unlimited data and browsing, but I don't think any wireless service with speed enough for quality video really gives unlimited bandwidth, at least in the US. Wireless and netflix really isn't economical for providers.
