Mozilla Messaging Unveils Raindrop 92

mhammond writes "Mozilla Messaging has just unveiled a Mozilla Labs project, Raindrop, an experiment with Open Messaging on the Open Web. Raindrop uses couchdb as a storage engine and to serve the HTML/CSS/Javascript application itself, while the back-end is primarily written in Python. Although it is early days yet, the concept that you own your data may be what sets this apart from Google Wave."

Submission + - The True Cost of Stolen Movies (yahoo.com)

Slightly Askew writes: "

"A former postal service employee has pleaded guilty to stealing more than 30,000 DVDs that moved through a western Massachusetts post office...He faces 10 months to 16 months in prison and restitution costs of about $38,000 at his Dec. 23 sentencing."

Looks like it's a buck and a quarter per movie to steal from Netflix. This is a much better deal than The Pirate Bay got where,

"The MPAA is demanding $37 USD for each download of "Syriana", "The Pink Panther" and "Walk the Line", $43 USD for Harry Potter and $68 for Prison Break."

That you don't understand why his comics are funnier than yours despite your claim of depth explains why his comics are funnier than yous. For reference, see Calvin and Hobbes vs. Anything Printed in The New Yorker.

Also, there's something to be said about a blog that takes 13 paragraphs to mock a 4 panel comic strip.

When I was planning to move here to Denver, I had countless people on forums tell me how annoying it is that it's sunny all the time, how you have to practically ration your water, and other tales of woe. Only had one come right out and say that the residents don't want other people moving here (particularly Californians who drive up property values).
