Google Bundles Toolbar With Adobe Apps 157

grammar fascist writes "Sci-Tech Today reports that Google is paying a 'significant amount' to bundle Google Toolbar with certain Adobe downloads. From the article: 'The initial venue for the Google mini-app will be downloads of the popular and free Shockwave multimedia player. The move is seen by some observers as an effort to outflank Microsoft, especially as Internet Explorer 7 nears its formal launch this summer [...] Interestingly, Google's search toolbar will be available only when Shockwave is downloaded for use with Internet Explorer on Windows.'"

If Google starts paying more attention to your favourite social bookmarking site, spammers will write automated tools (or exploit the existing API) to spam it with their crap and ruin it for you. Unless, of course, your social bookmarking site has a better idea for rooting out automated accounts than Blogger does...

Journal Journal: And so this becomes my blog...

Well, after almost 6 months of being registered here, I finally decided to post. I came here, as it was Spring Break and I was bored as hell. Oddly enough, though, I decided to start posting when school started back. :P

And so my not-so-good review/ranting page begins...

It's funny. Laugh.

Bill Gates and Linus Torvalds were hiking in the woods one day. They camped by a stream for the night.

In the middle of the night, Linus woke BillG up.

"Hey, Bill, what do you see?" asked Torvalds.

Bill leaned up on his elbows and thought.

Archer's back on the ship, Enterprise is merrily on her way, and the entire 31st Century storyline seems to have been wiped out due to internal logic, although I fully expect some convoluted use of treknobabble and badly-conceived plot devices to restore it soon enough.

That seems a bit of a stretch for a reset button. I see your point, but to me, a reset button is simply when the events of an episode(s) are "reset" and have never occured due to some weird time-travel screw-up or something and nobody remembers what happened. Thankfully, that hasn't happened on Enterprise yet. :)

Now, if Archer had been stuck in the 31st Century and actually had to take a few episodes to figure out what was going on, and Enterprise had been forced to limp along without Archer, or someone was offed, or Enterprise was sent home, or something significant, I could have been impressed.

May or may not have been nice. I would like to see something similiar to that in an upcoming ep or something, as long as it's done well.

Instead, we were right back, plotwise, to where we started, minus 3000 colonists we will never hear from again unless TPTB have a real good surprise up their sleeves.

IMO, that's not really a reset button. The TCW story will be revisited in later episodes for sure. Things may be somewhat back to normal for now, but who knows what'll happen. These things may be revisited later this season.
