FreeGamer writes: "After more than 11 years of development, Flightgear 1.0 has arrived. It was one of the first major Free Software games and has become a flight simulator that rivals it's commercial counterparts. There is an astonishing level of detail to much of the game and yet it can still be played on a modest PC. Flightgear has come of age!"

Submission + - Linux 2.6.23 goes stable.

"The latest stable version of the Linux kernel is: 2.6.23"

While it may take some time for this to trickle down into the various distributions this is exciting news. The new kernel includes various features, such as integration of Xen, and the new scheduling algorithm.
