Many of the open source Linux games also have pretty good Windows ports:

Take a look for "Linux Game" sites and follow the links to the homepage of the games. Most times the Windows ports will be included. Here's a few good examples:
At getdeb.net you can get Super Methane Brothers. If you go to the homepage of Super Methane Brothers you find a Windows Exe.
You can take a look at LinuxGames, playubuntu.com and probably find more via Google.
Games that I would recommend specifically:
Tux Math Command
gridwars 2
OpenAlchemist
Hedgewars
Game Maker
Frets on Fire
Secret Maryo Chronicles

Submission + - Best way to relearn how to program

Protocron writes: Dear Slashdot, I've been a computer user since I was an adolescent. I learned to program in C64 basic. I made stock market games, and little pong type games and copied the programs in from Run magazine. Life happened and I didn't come back to programming until I learned to use Visual Basic 5 and 6. I can write batch scripts, bash scripts and I work in business Linux support. Well, at the age of 30 I finally am at the stage that I am trying to go back to school to get my degree in CS/CIS. Unfortunately I have had to take a Java programming class. I did great at first, then we came to the section on Object Oriented Programming. It's been terrible. I need help! How do I unlearn this "Procedural Programming(?)" and learn how to do OOP? I had to drop the class, and now have to retake it in the Spring. Help would be appreciated. Books, techniques whatever you can offer.
