Did you miss the part where SUN has (succesfully) sued Microsoft for the exact same thing?

How is a corporation going to ask permission to search your residence? I guess we should be glad they asked permission . .
Why not ? Google is already the KING of search. And they probably already search your house or atleast the part of any slashdotter's house that really matters, his blogs, emails and what not.
perhaps you shouldnt make comments that are a dead giveaway you've never even seen a jailbroken iphone if you're going to try and claim you're some sort of authority on what they can and cant do.

The minor advantage over one or the other is moot.. because unless you've got something of actual importance (in which case it shouldn't be on your home computer) no one is going to go through the bother of trying to break in either way.

Agreed that a chance of a terrorist using your connection to send threat emails is quite low, but how about a spammer or an identity thief? Or just an angry X Lover?
Socially acceptable (and considered good) living conditions are achievable with these salaries in India. Minimum wedge in "Federal" US means probably some dingy old apartment and living on free food from Mcdonalds.
BTW: Can you afford a full time housekeeper on minimum wedge in US?
