Submission + - GeoNames available for yet more users (geonames.org)
levy writes: Geonames.org (http://www.geonames.org) doesn't seem to have a single mention on Slashdot. Free quality services tend to get some attention here, so I thought Geonames deserved a mention too. Recently the 6.2 million geographical records have been made available to Drupals (Open source CMS) user base (http://drupal.org/project/geonames), from before there are APIs available for Python, Ruby and Lisp among others (http://www.geonames.org/about.html). Where do you guys get your geographical information? Are there other more reliable sources?
