That actually would be ok..... IF the common man controlled the government. Notice that when populations are small... there is far less complaining about the govt.

I find it hilarious that Americans say "yes, in war civilians get killed". If those civilians were HERE people wouldn't be so damn cavalier about it. People in Europe are much less likely to support wars because they actually know what the phrase "civilian casualities" really means

Actually it's quite bad and goes against the basic principles of the free market and a free society in general. If I want to write my own software to do something using my own skills alone I should be able to do it. These patents are totally nonsensical
