Romer!can writes: "Scientific American is reporting that today's publication of Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences has announced that the 40,000 year old skull found in Romania does suggest a link between humans and neanderthals, speculating the result is from interbreeding. If that were correct, it adds to the evidence suggesting that human evolution is influenced by neanderthals. However, it's worth noting the Washington Post obtained comments from the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History which cast doubt on any link at all between humans and neanderthals."
