I have never tried to buy a gun before. Because I haven't had a problem with background checks to get jobs, I believe I would be able to get one. I might need to wait a day, since my info isn't in the system as a gun owner, but I would probably be able to get one by tomorrow, or Friday, at the latest if I went to the store right now. It looks like it would cost about $500 or so to buy a rifle that's not bolt-action (single-shot). A handgun with a magazine is slightly cheaper. Ammo isn't very expensive, if I want it, either. That said, the vast majority of gun buyers are law-abiding citizens.

I don't know what country you live in, but I'm sure I can get plenty of dangerous items from a regular shop there. Yes, guns can be dangerous. Fortunately, the average person is decent.

Pedophile refers to children generally under 10-12. Since 99.999% of high school students in the US are 14 and above, pedophile cannot apply. The original poster was being slightly pedantic with that. There is a term for people who have a thing for kids high school age, but I can't remember what it is. It's not pedophile, though. I'm guessing you're a grade school or middle school teacher. If you wouldn't mind, please let me know where you teach so I can avoid that school when my son gets older.

Then explain to me, why, in years that we have a somewhat long period where temperatures range pretty close to 60 here in Florida, does my power bill go to almost nothing? And, when I cover my windows in the dead of winter, the heat runs a lot less? It may get pretty hot in Florida, but it also gets pretty cold in Germany. I also used to live in northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin. With a well-insulated house up there, your heat or AC ran very little. If you had a badly insulated house (as my friend's parents had) it runs almost constantly. Insulation makes more of a difference than you would believe. I don't understand why I have yet to find a house in this state that is at all well insulated.

The problem is, many Christians wouldn't agree with that definition. Many Christians, especially in the USA, do not fit this. Most Americans define being Christian as attending a church that reveres Christ in some way. They don't necessarily believe anything said there, but still label themselves Christians. In that way, Hitler was a good Christian, in that he went to church and observed holy days.

Prices, at least with my audiologist, include fitting, 30 day trial where I can try multiple styles each for 30 days, fine tuning and repairs for three years, one replacement if damaged beyond repair, any extra fittings needed for whatever reason, etc. So basically it includes warranty and service for free.

Knowing someone who worked in dental insurance, most offices tend to have someone who only deals with insurance. Even a fairly small office will have upwards of 15 hours of phone contact with insurance companies, along with up to 40 hours of paperwork that needs to be filled out, filed, etc. I don't know if the electronic medical records initiatives have brought this time down any, but I would be sort of surprised if it lowers the time much.
