Submission + - Frontiers | The Virtual Brain: a simulator of primate brain network dynamics | (frontiersin.org)

pausz42 writes: The Virtual Brain platform encloses a computational model designed to recreate
collective whole brain dynamics by virtualizing brain structure and function,
generating simultaneous simulated recordings of a number of neuroimaging
modalities. The simulations of the large-scale brain network models ( built
using structural data from DTI (Diffusion Tensor Imaging) and mesoscopic models
of neural dynamics) can be carried out on a modern desktop workstation.

The entire project is open source (GNU GPLv2) and built on an existing set of
open source tools and the the source code can be found at https://github.com/the-virtual-brain.

So, whether you are a neuroscientist, engineer, physicist, or any other sciency
type you can get into this and contribute in your own way.
