So no, you're talking out your rear end. How about some authoritative information? rjejr is correct. You can go into your Wii Settings and turn off the background data options--you know, the one that updates your weather and news and all that while your Wii is in standby mode. If you don't use your Wii for weather/news, you can save yourself some electricity/money by disabling the standby mode. http://goo.gl/uavVx

I, for one, am very glad these unlicensed options traders are getting stamped out! There's no room in the economy for these shenanigans! Just think what could happen if people started massively trading options on unregulated exchanges - people would start speculating, maybe betting on, say, housing prices going up or down, and before you know it, we could have a housing assets bubble that would burst, bring down the economy and require massive government bailouts! I'm so glad that options trading is restricted only to regulated, licensed exchanges where such things couldn't ever happen...... The lesson here is this: if you're a small person trying to speculate - that's bad! If you're a giant investment bank trying to speculate - go right ahead, just as long as your dealer^H^H^H exchange is "regulated". http://www.readenews.com/2012/02/10-classy-speakers-to-match-your-white.html

Just point them at key members' of Congress' homes for a while. Then, when budget reviews come up, NASA simply goes to Congress with a thumb drive. "We need funding for a new Mars mission, Senator. If not, we'll have to start selling some of these picture-filled drives to the public to offset the costs. Wouldn't it be a damn shame if certain images of that high school cheerleading squad coming and going from your house at all hours of the night were to...accidentally...end up on the Internet? That would be a damn, criminal, shame...wouldn't it, Senator?" http://www.readenews.com/2012/11/instagram-launches-profile-badges.html

Exactly this. I don't EVER want to see a mobile version of any website on my tablet. And yet far too many websites refuse to give me the full site no matter what I click, ignoring the flag in my browser for "request desktop version" and not having anything of their own I can click to get there. I have never seen a site that works better on my tablet in mobile version than full, but I have seen many sites refuse to let me even try the full version. Additionally, my phone is now in the same range, I only want the desktop version on it too. again, not an option on many sites. http://www.readenews.com/2012/11/samsung-galaxy-note-ii-sales-hit-5.html

Submission + - Samsung Galaxy Note II Sales Hit 5 Million (readenews.com)

gullfaraz writes: "Five million units of Samsung‘s Galaxy Note II have been sold worldwide, the company has announced.

The milestone comes exactly two months after the device was launched globally, on September 26, 2012. It took approximately a month for Samsung to sell the first three million units, and sales are obviously still going strong after Samsung brought the device to the U.S. on October 24.

The Galaxy Note II is a 5.5-inch smartphone/tablet hybrid with a stylus. It sports a 1.6 GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM and 64GB of storage (further expandable to 128GB via memory cards). http://www.readenews.com/2012/11/samsung-galaxy-note-ii-sales-hit-5.html"

Submission + - Unlikely Tech Alliance Aids Recovery After Sandy (readenews.com)

gullfaraz writes: "Last weekend, more than ten days after superstorm Sandy, and after many days of darkness, most residents of Red Hook finally had power back. But power isn’t everything anymore. In the immediate aftermath of Sandy, people across the city used Internet and social media to communicate with their loved ones and let them know they were OK or needed some help. The Internet is no longer a frivolous thing, it’s a critical tool during and after natural disasters like Sandy. And in Red Hook, a neighborhood mostly comprised of low-income public housing residents, Internet is sometimes a luxury very few people can afford."
