TV is a thing that doesn't exist in my life, or the life of anybody I know either.
It's not even a case of people just not having a dedicated box, and watching online.
Nobody I know watches anything. Ever. Beyond the occasional film pulled via bittorrent.
I'm the exception in the lack of big screens in owning a 720p 3D projector for gaming on. Am quite happy with 720p, and likely wont have any interest in upgrading till we get a version of the HDMI spec for 60fps 3D at greater resolutions.
Comic Sans is appealing to children.
Ergo. Comic Sans comes with a mandatory conviction of child abuse. Even if the defendent is only on trial for shop lifting or being fabulous without due care and attention,
Modern phones also have a Speakerphone mode.
Making the mic more sensitive. To where it can clearly hear anybody within a few meters.
If you'd check the specification sheet that came with your cat. You'd discover the electrical characteristics of fur are not dependent on the observation of its quantum state.
Living or dead. Your cat will perform identically in this application provided your beowulf cluster is designed in a way to minimize hair loss and skin decay.
Unfortunately, Wolfram is unable to give me the weight of a standard cat. But I'd guestimate your feline autostroaker cluster to weigh in similarly to your cars existing battery with the much lower energy density preventing you from driving under any bridges or entering multistory carparks.
You can block javascript for the site using something like noscript.
It degrades quite decently. Or at least did when I was last trying to save my sanity on an underpowered box.
I'm inclined to agree with you. With the exception of some magic stick determining weather a protest is 'legal' or not.
If your giving thought as to the legality of a protest. Then its not a protest. It's mearely Acceptable Decent.
Acceptable Dessent being the smoke and mirror trick that presents an authoritarian regime to the world as a democracy.
This stuff drives me insane too.
I live off-grid. I'm reasonably mobile and don't have an address. Any address, nor does any of my family... To complicate things my internet is via a satellite link that at times can terminate half a continent away.
Places like Amazon and Ebay don't present any trouble at all... But any smaller or more specialised businesses is like playing russian roulette. Worse, every so often I encounter a jobsworth who doesnt seem to have anything better to do with his week then cause me as much hassle as he can creatively manage.
So I find myself having to learn to think and behave like a fraudster. So I can spend my own money without having to deal with all that drama.
I guess thats what their betting on.
That enough people see the value in the concept, regardless of an immediate need for the product.
A language and compiler from last decade.
A golden age when only the observant few knew without a doubt that the worlds governments were malignant.
And everybody else thought they were just paranoid loons overdue their Thorazine shots.
Quadros do VESA 3D... Which is an older and very different technology.
Under Windows, I just use the 3DTV Play feature to hook my projector up over HDMI. The glasses are controlled by the projector... Works like a 3DTV. I just change to a 3D resolution in the driver control panel and it all just works.
Even if I bought a Quadro card xor a 3D Vision Pro kit. The Linux drivers won't let me output HDMI 1.4a Famepacked Stereo.
About time.
The inability of the Linux drivers to drive my 3D gaming projector is the only thing still keeping windows on my box.
I've been a regular member of the London Hackspace for a few years. And this is something that I've never seen as being a problem here.
There have been a few issues with anarchists and activists showing up, trying to import politics and generally walk all over the rules. But firmly bouncing them from the premises till they got the message such disruption is unwelcome solved the issue each time.
I guess its a personal thing.
Long lines I can track just fine... Moving too a new line takes me a bunch of seconds, because if I don't follow carefully what I'm doing I mix all the lines up in a random order and confusion results. Still nowhere near the pain of trying to read black text on a white background. But its up there.
Very much this.
Even compact mode is horribly verbose and wasteful of available space.
Way too much white space. The insanity inducingly narrow content design is made twice as bad by a massive 2nd column eating into much of the sparse space given for content.
The old design was already irritating for only featuring 4 or 5 articles per scroll. The new brings this down too 2. Turning browsing into a terrible scrolling finger chore.
