Bruce Sterling and some other underground sci-fi guys wrote this sometime in the early 80s.

Journal Journal: Early Thoughts

Another day of digging. More ILL requested and more articles printed off.

The difficulty I?m having right now is that I?m having trouble finding people who have written about the content, and themes of cyberpunk. Most of what I have found it literary criticism about cyberpunk. While they touch on the themes are part of their critics they never go to far in depth about them.

Journal Journal: In the Stacks.

So a short update. I have spent the past few days digging thought the 'American Humanities Index' for articles related to the topic at hand. I've found some good stuff in full text and ILLed for a few others. No new thoughts at he moment.

Journal Journal: IS Blog

So I've been planning on doing this for a long time, but I wanted to get to the start of the school year and begin research. What you are seeing here is my IS weblog. I am going to be using this space to document the work i am doing on my Independent Study.

First some deep background, most of the people who are going to be reading this already know what is happening, but to be fair ill fill in the gaps. I am "Super" Mike Lewis, and I just started my senior year at Hanover College in Hanover Indiana. Ever senior at Hanover has to prepare some sort of long turn, long for independent study in order to graduate.

For my IS I am going to look at a group of "Cyberpunk" novels and films and explore common themes. Then I will put those themes into a historical context. Right now I am going to look at Necromancer, Snowcrash , and Transmetropolitan. That is more or less what I have so far.

I'll keep this thing as updated as possible, and as I start writing I will be posting chunks.

(edit: im working on a way for you all to post comments.)
