The poster should open a map. Gaza borders on Israel AND EGYPT. The man could have only been prevented from getting cooking oil of both countries blockaded him!

article about this but didn't mention her "space fiction" series, beginning with Shikasta. Aside from being arguably some of the best Sci-fi ever written, this series presents a form of social criticism that goes way beyond the more "politically correct" tone of her other works, perhaps this is why they aren't discussed?

He claims that a space-time warp could "evolve" on it's own with a little bit of a "push". Caveats, travel would only be possible between times that have developed this technology and implemented the infrastructure.
