Although I find it impossible that you don't have friends or family who have several iOS devices to test a trial version app on, here's an answer:

Pick a random direction, walk 10 feet, bump into any random person who already owns an iOS device, buy them a coffee in exchange for them letting you try an app on their device.

Comment Golf is pretty much useless to me (Score 1) 405

My personal opinion here, so mod me down accordingly. Ignoring the concentration and aim aspect, I think golf is barely a "sport" at all. It requires basically one swing motion and some walking. Sure, that's a lot more than couch potatoes do, but if you want to play a "sport", why not choose something that is a little more involved and active? I get that some people aren't capable of active sports, and some people probably really like golf, but do we really need multiple golf courses in every city? I think people losing interest in golf is a good thing. Hopefully some of that land can be reclaimed for parks, homes, or productive businesses. Also, why we've made millionaires out of the best golf players is simply amazing. Nobody should complain about money problems when we pay people millions for knocking a little ball around.

It's possible that the estimated "one in a million" odds already factor in the whole population, instead of meaning one in a million chance for each person.

Like, if you could estimate that there is a 5% chance that a gold coin burried at a beach will be found ever, that's obviously not per person because after only 20 people walk by, the coin is likely to have been found.

I highly recommend Dropbox. It has clients for Win, Linux, iOS, Android, BlackBerry OS, and others, including direct web access. I think you start with a free 2GB, but you can get a few GB more for free by linking your various devices and inviting friends. I think my total is around 8GB currently.

It seems to work flawlessly. Any time you make changes or add files, the folder icon changes to a folder sync icon, letting you know which folders are still syncing. I have my wife using her own Dropbox for her contract work, and my teens have their own for their homework, music, etc.

A simple fly eats his meal on the spot without much forethought beyond following a smell. He might agree with you, but in regards to the advanced, technical, cheating spider who meticulously spins his death web, premeditating his trapping, killing, preservation, and storage of food for later. Would we be more of a natural predator if we just waited for cows to get caught in our sticky ropes?

(I really know nothing about flies, so someone feel free to rip my guesswork to shreds.)
