A solar panel is a buy once use for a long time item. While it is true that oil companies are really energy distribution companies, the sun does it's own distribution. I wouldn't be surprised if the oil companies are some of the ones lobbying for orbital solar power as opposed to ground based solar and wind. If you have your own solar panels and wind turbines you don't need to pay a giant company to distribute power to you.

As the author of most of the information on the hostapd page on wireless.k.o, I can tell you that, up until recently, most of that information was changing on a weekly basis. Now that 2.6.29 has landed, the documentation will start to firm up quickly. I figured I had at least another week to finish the hostapd docs. While the documentation included with hostapd is good, it's too much. There are like 200 options that only a handful of people would even need to consider in it.

It also supports implicit multiplication. I found this out when looking for info on 802.11e.
