Submission + - Role of small web designers

someones1 writes: I have recently started up an on-the-side web design business in a small town. Most of the aging local business owners understand the need to have websites for their businesses so that they can try to reach a wider, and younger, customer base. Unfortunately, they are still scared silly of the Internet and have no real experience with it. My price can't be beat for a quality site (couple hundred or so) because I know that they cannot afford more than that. With that said, I find it difficult to pin down what role I should be playing. For the price, I feel justified in trying to sell myself as a producer of only the design, plus insertion of their content. However, I have run into several people who expect me to write and provide all of their written and image content, and a few more who expect me to be a full blown turn-key online marketing specialist for them. Naturally, they don't want to pay any more for this and it changes from a fairly profitable business to something that takes more time than it's worth. Does anyone else have experience dealing with folks and small businesses like this who want websites? What's the best way to get them to understand the role of a cheap, small site designer?
