Agreed. Sometimes you're making a risky investment and that doesn't mean it was a bad investment. "Will a game with real swordfighting work? Let's pay a team to work on it full time for a year and find out!". Perhaps real swordfighting without "power-moves" and other cool non-realistic things ends up actually being extremely boring after 5 minutes and doesn't make an interesting game and those are investments I don't mind making if it is something I'm interested in.

Exactly this. It's not about hating future generations and wanting our kids to suffer, it's about making the smartest decisions with our limited resources. Hundreds of billions of dollars spent on labour/production focused on reducing greenhouse gases may be better spent and preventing poverty, increasing education, investing in safe nuclear or fusion, etc. We are spending a lot of our limited resources on AGW for the reductions(?) in greenhouse gasses we are seeing.

It'd be just like an email bank transfer between two accounts. Internet access needed. It should be just as secure as online banks so tamper away at those for practice. If you think you can catch the wifi/bluetooth or whatever and tamper then try a man in the middle on a standard SSL online bank and steal money like that. Not likely to happen.

Or the obligatory car analogy...you'll never get the hang of driving without getting behind the wheel and trying it...practice will increase your experience points and skill levels.(Okay, a car analogy, and a game analogy...so shoot me! Just don't use GTA tactics!)

GTA tactics work fine too. Only difference is in real life some of the hookers are cops.
