They want to channel all donations through them, and take a small % of the donations. And manage the donors. For some reason, all the major foundations hate that idea, especially the part where they give up the donors to the Gates Foundation. Gee, I wonder where that behavior came from.

I was once called by a Bloomberg reporter who wanted a comment on the movement of a particularly thinly traded security that I owned. I asked her how she knew to call me, and she replied that I ran news and analytics on that specific ticker regularly on my Bloomberg terminal.
It makes me wonder how often I was front-run by Bloomberg reporters or their cronies over the years.

If the carriers had a service for the owner to remotely brick and unbrick the phone as well as transfer ownership (with the ability to brick) to another person this would be a non-issue.
