Submission + - Polish twins have two fathers

luftskibet writes: A Polish woman has given birth to a pair of twins with different fathers. While still married, she was in a physical relationship with another man. After the birth she apparently has filed for divorce. To prove that her husband was not the father of the children, a paternity test was done — with a rather unexpected outcome. The father of the son is her husband, while her lover can claim paternity of the daughter. Finnish newspaper Helsingin Sanomat cites a piece reported by the Polish news channel TVN24.

Pirate Bay Trial Ends In Jail Sentences 1870

myvirtualid writes "The Globe and Mail reports that the Pirate Bay defendants were each sentenced Friday to one year in jail. According to the article, 'Judge Tomas Norstrom told reporters that the court took into account that the site was "commercially driven" when it made the ruling. The defendants have denied any commercial motives behind the site.' The defendants said before the verdict that they would appeal if they were found guilty. 'Stay calm — Nothing will happen to TPB, us personally or file sharing whatsoever. This is just a theater for the media,' Mr. Sunde said Friday in a posting on social networking site Twitter." Submission + - Mac noob needs help

luftskibet writes: I have been following Slashdot for a while now and have finally mustered up the courage to ask for help. I am a total noob as far as "nerdiness" goes, but am more than willing to learn and am therefore asking for advice here. A few years ago I switched from windows to mac (first generation of iMac with intel core duo) and now I am interested in exploring especially the unix aspect of mac. Where should I start? Crash courses work for me due to a hectic everyday life, but more hardcore stuff is fine too, as long as it has been recommended. Today I very well know my way around my computer outside of the terminal, but as it seems a bit scary still, I would love to have some kind of reliable literature to guide me inside of it, either books or webpages. My fiancé is primarily a linux guy, but right now he is too busy to teach me anything, so I hope there are some nice people here who could assist me. Thank you in advance!
