Whatever happened to the little box that you could add a note to when you sent a friend request? Seems like that would accomplish the same thing. Was there a reason they took that away other than to charge for it now?

the only real reason to consider them is revenue generation.

Most definitely this. Red light and speeding cameras alike are there to make money for the local goverment, the camera contractors, and possibly other slimy bastards that have their hands in the pot. No, I don't have a source for this, but it's obvious.

I have. That's what makes me cringe. I guess they got a deal at $0.03/page though. They must have paid students to do the copying because my lawyer charged me hundreds just for talking on the phone!

suraj.sun sends this quote from Engadget about improving the Kinect 3D video recordings we discussed recently: "[Oliver Kreylos is] blowing minds and demonstrating that two Kinects can be paired and their output meshed — one basically filling in the gaps of the other. He found that the two do create some interference, the dotted IR pattern of one causing some holes and blotches in the other, but when the two are combined they basically help each other out and the results are quite impressive."

Sounds like they basically got free reign to buy some cool laptops, take all their best parts out from inside, and build them into a custom case. To me, it seems like nothing more than a redesigned mac, but I would definitely take that class.
