Reputation, I suppose. After the whole Muzimei fiasco, I frankly am not surprised.

But I don't think it's going to work. China's had a pornography problem ever since it's had the internet. If you've ever visited Chinese websites (I'm Chinese so I know), even the mainstream news websites are plastered with 18+ advertisements. Needless to say, it's a bit late to start fixing the problem, eh?

Strawman. Or should I say, men, because I spy multiple in that lengthy rant. Before you accuse me of defending an "ass-backward culture", let me make it clear that I do NOT support it. I find it cruel, I find it pitiable, but there's no need for you to go around insulting other cultures you scarcely understand (which is obvious in your clumsily phrased argument padded with various versions of "you are a lunatic").

Yes, you can access slashdot from China. In fact, I'm sitting at a computer in one of Shanghai's suburban neighborhoods. You're jumping to some pretty big conclusions there. A lot of the Western media covering Chinese affairs do nothing but criticize. I'm not saying they shouldn't criticize, but it really leaves Westerners with the impression that the Chinese government is so cruel and harsh that all the citizens are living in fear. Um, no. We really aren't that affected at all, and I can say (because yes, I have lived in the US and Australia) that life here is no different, except for the annoying fact that I can't access Freewebs.
