The Korean government hacks a Japanese company and the U.S. are taking action over it. Say what? All this over a "movie" that hadn't even been released so Korea (or anyone) really knew the actual content. It's nuts to think a government would go to such lengths over something that wasn't released that could have been totally non-offensive. I could understand if some was pissed off AFTER it had been released, but not before. It's just too extreme for so many unknowns.

Looks like a media storm to increase sales for what looks to be a crappy movie.

It gets depressing to think that even a device we purchase that we think is our own, someone wants to control under a BS law. We have no power or control over almost anything anymore (our homes, our cars, our music, our movies, nothing).

Suing Whirlpool will have a much bigger negative impact on their business than any post would have. Goodbye WCS.

At current trents.....bla, bla, bla. I think we all agree, that if we base it on current population growth and the current mindest of "just build more and bigger power stations" then the opitons are limited Whats overlooked in alomost every one of these "studies" funded by power companies is the decentralisation of power. Each household and business has the ability to conserve their power (insulation, efficent heating, etc), plus generate their own power (using solar, wind - where possible, regenative power). This model will remove the need for bigger and more power stations. The main issue with this model isnt changing peoples minds; its that under this decentralised model power companies would reduce or lose their profits. So the current model remains :(

Almost every gamer I know couldnt care less what o/s they are using as long as their games and "game related" programs run properly (Teamspeak, etc). They use Windows cause there is no other viable option now. With SteamOS all this would change. They would most likely prefer to run Linux and spend the money saved on more games. Bring it on!!

Internet costs in Australia. Its not uncommon to pay around $70/month for ADSL 1 speeds (1.5Mbps).

Adobe appear to be so focused on pushing their "money making" business model (the no-one wants) they forget to secure their backend systems. I wonder what incentives the NSA give them to pipe the users details into PRISM?

How many actual "terrorists" have been caught using this technology? ....1? 2? As this form of "monitoring" has yeild no results in capturing actual "terrorists" then why is it still being funded? .

Here in Australia the Minister for science role has been scraped, effectively removing scientific opinion from the decision making process.

The 5S is aimed at the corporate and tech head market. The 5C is aimed at the "teens" and lower end market. Its long term strategy too, these phones will probe still being sold new in 2 years time like the 4S still is. So they need devices that teens will still want in 2 years (how about a new range of colours?) As for canibalising: its competing with itself - sometimes a good thing. Consumers think they have a choice, the 5C or the 5S. They will fail to realise that there are plenty of other options out there too, Samsung, HTC, Nokia, Sony, etc.

Why all the fear around the fingerprint reader? Geez, the phone will simply take a pic of the users face with the front facing camera and send it off to the NSA with the persons details, wifi passwords, etc.
