Submission + - USAF using PS3s for cheap supercomputer. (yahoo.com)

Gagek writes: USAF in Rome, NY is ordering 1,700 PS3s to build a budget supercomputer. Not only is the PS3 cluster extremely powerful, they are nice on power bill too. This 1,700 node cluster could use up to 95% less power than other supercomputers. Seeing this more and more, wondering if they are going to use them for virtual flight simulation too?
