Titoxd writes: DNA India reports that data collected from the Indian Space Research Organisation's Chandrayaan-1 might have found "signs of life in some form or the other on the Moon". Chandrayaan-1's sensors detected organic matter signatures shortly before its Moon Impact Probe crashed into the lunar surface late last year. Interestingly, the article points out that Apollo 11 found similar traces back in 1969.

Titoxd writes: "In a blast from the past, NASA reports that Spirit's solar panels have received a much-needed cleaning courtesy of the Red Planet. The report states, "The cleaning boosts Spirit's daily energy supply by about 30 watt-hours, to about 240 watt-hours from 210 watt-hours. The rover uses about 180 watt-hours per day for basic survival and communications, so this increase roughly doubles the amount of discretionary power for activities such as driving and using instruments. Thirty watt-hours is the amount of energy used to light a 30-watt bulb for one hour.""

Titoxd writes: "Apple has released a new version of Safari that fixes the carpet bomb vulnerability in Safari 3.1 for Windows. This comes in the heels of Microsoft recommending against using Safari in Windows, as well as by the release of code exploiting this vulnerability."

While he was expected to arrive at his destination on August 20 (yes, in the future), anyone that hears from him would help quell a lot of rumors in the near future."
