Nigel Stepp writes: It has recently been announced that the winner of the Simpson's Springfield Contest is Springfield, VT.

I don't necessary think this means Springfield, VT is the "official" Springfield. What it does mean, however, is that the movie will premier there on July 27th.

The Illinois Springfield suggested that the competition "Eat my shorts", however, it looks like other shorts will be eaten instead.

Pete (big-pete) writes: "The BBC has announced that the latest album by Prince is to be distributed free with a British tabloid (the Mail on Sunday). This has been announced weeks before the album is officially release on the 24th July.

Some people in the industry are a little upset by this, but the newspaper's managing director came out with this insightful gem concerning music retailers: 'They are living in the old days and haven't developed their businesses sufficiently. We can enhance their business. They are being incredibly insular and need to move their business on'."

An anonymous reader writes: The death of the wife of a professional wrestler was listed on wikipedia before the police knew about it. A man in Connecticut has had his computer confiscated by the police. He claims that he knew nothing of the murder and that his vandalism of the web site was just a bizarre coincidence.
