Are OSX application bundles able to auto-update themselves? If not, package repos (or app stores) have a serious advantage over application bundles.
Now, the concern that an organization would force it's members to either hand over it's tokens, or allow the organization to review their votes could be real. The problem is that you yourself can provide the token to, let's say, an employer forcing you to vote a certain way, an abusive spouse or someone who wants to buy your vote.
The current systems prevent that or make it hard to do in any systematic way. Even taking a picture of your ballot won't help, as you can always get it exchanged for a fresh one.

Completely agree. First off, trying to upsell by giving a 10% off coupon is just lousy as hell. And especially for digital goods. And second, 5 days extension for a 4-day down time is extremely weak. It's not like they haven't had a chance to learn.
If they are set up to maximize revenue, aren't they also in places where a lot of people are speeding? The motives might not line up, but the results do.
