I'd recommend contacting them about the specific requirements. I've been using them for years, found them to be reliable with actual people running the show instead of automated drones. And believe me, I've been through quite a few hosts before these folks.

We did this at our office some time back. There's more to it than you might think, and I wish we'd done it sooner. First, the cost savings is pretty significant. You've no idea how much paper, files, file cabinets, and sheer storage space for all this paper that's involved until you don't have to use it anymore. Add to that the labor cost of constantly running somewhere to hunt down a paper file, or the labor cost of having someone file away a stack of papers into that paper file. It really is pretty significant if you're in an office type environment that creates paperwork. The problem is going from a hard copy environment to a soft copy environment. What do you do with all your existing hard copies? What mechanisms or hardware do you use for going from hard copy to soft copy? We opted to implement our change on a going-forward basis. Basically as of a certain date all future paperwork would be soft copy. The idea being that (at least in our case) eventually the hard copy files would age into being obsolete and destroyed. There's other issues. What kind of a system do you use to store it? Do you run your own server solution? Do you farm it out to a cloud-type solution? In our case, there was excellent proprietary management software geared to our agency, but what happens if that company goes under, or is sold? All in all, it's an excellent idea but the solution isn't as simple as one might expect.

Submission + - Steve Jobs worked on Apple's "next product" until (edibleapple.com)

An anonymous reader writes: Even during his last days, Jobs played an active role at Apple. It’s been reported that Jobs, in the days leading up to the recent iPhone 4S event, was giving tips to Apple’s top brass about the presentation. And now comes word via Softbank CEO Masayoshi Son that Jobs worked on Apple up until the day he died, or at the very least, up until the day before.

You're clearly having a bad day. I'm not arguing the iPhone. It's a perfectly good phone. I don't have one. I'm not against having one, but I have an android and my comment was regarding the android, battery consumption, and the act of turning on/off sensors. Contrary to your analysis, my reading comprehension is perfectly sound. I stand by my suggestion on the decaff, by the way.

Submission + - Supreme Court of Canada: No Liability for Linking (activepolitic.com)

bs0d3 writes: The Supreme Court of Canada today released a ruling that declared that defamation lawsuits don't hold liability for linking. Justice Abella wrote, "I would conclude that a hyperlink, by itself, should never be seen as "publication" of the content to which it refers." Abella continues to say, "The Internet's capacity to disseminate information has been described by this Court as "one of the great innovations of the information age" whose "use should be facilitated rather than discouraged". Hyperlinks, in particular, are an indispensable part of its operation...The Internet cannot, in short, provide access to information without hyperlinks. Limiting their usefulness by subjecting them to the traditional publication rule would have the effect of seriously restricting the flow of information and, as a result, freedom of expression. "

So in effect you are stating that your brain does not work well so for you an iPhone is better?

I had to!

Not at all. I'm saying my brain doesn't work so well, so I need the phone to manage its resources for me. I have an android phone and the solution for me was an application to help do that. I'm not trying to argue iPhone vs Android, to me it's all the same. I'm just sayin'. I have an android, and this is what worked well for me.

My reasoning has always been, if you have to turn off all the features to make the phone usable, why have the features at all? And turning them on only when I want to use them is too much hassle if I have to do it manually. I'm an American, I want it now and I want someone else to do it for me, damnit. Fortunately I found a workable solution (battery saving application).

That's been a huge issue for me too. I went and got the extended battery for the Evo 4G which worked wonderfully, although it made the phone heavy as a brick. I've found a surprising solution though. Recently upgraded to the Galaxy S2 (Or whatever the hell you call the thing) and there wasn't an extended battery available yet that I could find. So, against my better judgement I tried JuiceDefender. It works. It works *well*. Basically it shuts down the sensors when they aren't in use, and turns them on when you unlock your phone to use it. Worried about email? No problem, it turns on the data every so often to allow apps to synch that need to synch. I'm actually not sure why a similar strategy isn't just a default part of the operating system.

Meh. These multiplayer shoot-em-ups don't do it for me anymore. They don't offer anything different. We might as well all still be playing Half Life - and frankly that'd probably be more fun anyway (Mods, Maps, etc). I'm hugely disappointed with what's available in the game market, especially on the console. Give me something different. Give me a story that grabs my attention. Give me something that makes me think. I mean, actually THINK. I think some developers think that's the same thing as having the patience to simply put up with the game....
