Comment Google Fan Boys (Score 2) 391

Google fan boys will always defend Google no matter what the company does. Google has been censoring information. They have shared information with the government. They are asking for too much personal information and even tailoring your Gmail depending on what's in your email. They track where people surf using Google Analytics. The list goes on and on... they are a corporation out to make money and ethics are a completely separate issue from cash flow. Seriously... you don't have a problem with any of this? There's always some type of payoff - even if it's an ego problem. And switching to Yahoo is somehow better?
Censorship

Submission + - Google Starts Censoring (torrentfreak.com)

plastick writes: It’s taken a while, but Google has finally caved in to pressure from the entertainment industries including the MPAA and RIAA. The search engine now actively censors terms including BitTorrent, torrent, utorrent, RapidShare and Megaupload from its instant and autocomplete services. The reactions from affected companies and services are not mild, with BitTorrent Inc., RapidShare and Vodo all speaking out against this act of commercial censorship.

Comment Difference between men and women. (Score 1) 483

Easy.

Like it or not, as human animals, men are more controlling and women are more submissive. Andriod gives you more control over the device and iPhone tells you how it's going to be with little configuration.

Even in human sexuality, respective to men and womens' anatomy, man experience joy in their masculinity in the act of romantic dominance (penetration) while women experience their femininity in the act of romantic surrender (being penetrated). Ask women if they like being spanked and having their hair pulled in intercourse. (Understanding that while using generalities, obviously there are always exceptions to the rule.)

How about a hard question?

"Where do you want to eat tonight?" "I don't know. You pick."

Seems to me that we'd be a lot better off if we produced more things locally (even if within the same country) which also creates jobs and helps the local economy.

Oh wait, then we couldn't have our modern day equivalence to "slaves" that are all over seas and out of sight (like the kids who work in sweat shops in China) that work for next to nothing so we can have stuff really cheap at Walmart.

Comment That's because people remember the past versions (Score 2, Interesting) 609

People are not excited because past versions of their OS have had such serious issues, that why would people want to put themselves through that again?

I knew so many people that switched to Android, the Palm Pre, and the iPhone from a Windows Phone because they got tired of rebooting their phone on a daily basis.

Comment Maybe if we stopped giving them our money... (Score 1) 433

So we have the entertainment industry suing little girls and grandmothers over 'piracy', they are lobbying the government to take away our rights, Hollywood has done little except ruin the culture and ethical boundaries with their version of "reality", most people these days do not have the ability to have healthy relationships because they have been brainwashed with fantasy, they throw patent and copyright wars draining our court systems with our own tax money, and now they want to stalk you when you watch a movie where you paid $20 for some popcorn and a drink.

They sure seem to be the wealthiest chain of corporations and organizations in the world. Perhaps that's because the majority of the population has about the shittiest priorities one could imagine. While people are entertaining themselves to death, they know little about education, their government, or the myriads of issues facing humanity.

There is not a lot of difference between doing nothing and joining along. When people get their priorities straight and stop giving these multinational-corporation pieces of human garbage their money, then we'll see this kind of nonsense stop.

Facebook

Submission + - Facebook Apps Transmit, Sell Personal Info (foxnews.com)

plastick writes: Many of the most popular applications, or "apps," on the social-networking site Facebook Inc. have been transmitting identifying information, in effect, providing access to people's names and, in some cases, their friends' names to dozens of advertising and Internet tracking companies, a Wall Street Journal investigation has found.

"Apps" are pieces of software that let Facebook's 500 million users play games or share common interests with one another. The Journal found that all of the 10 most popular apps on Facebook were transmitting users' IDs to outside companies. The apps, ranked by research company Inside Network Inc. (based on monthly users), include Zynga Game Network Inc.'s FarmVille, with 59 million users, and Texas HoldEm Poker and FrontierVille. Three of the top 10 apps, including FarmVille, also have been transmitting personal information about a user's friends to outside companies.

Submission + - Why Sex in Space Is a Bad Idea (foxnews.com) 1

plastick writes: In their experiments, researchers employed human embryonic stem cells, which possess the extraordinary ability to become any other cell. To simulate microgravity on Earth, the scientists used a NASA-designed machine which kept the cells nourished with oxygen and nutrients while constantly spinning to keep the cells in a state of freefall for 28 days.

After this experiment, the cells showed vast differences on the molecular level, with 64 percent of their proteins differing from those grown under normal gravity. Specifically, these microgravity-exposed cells generated more proteins that degrade bone and fewer proteins with antioxidant effects. Antioxidants protect against reactive oxidants that can damage DNA.

Microgravity also influenced levels of a broad range of other proteins. These include those involved in cell division, the immune system, the muscle and skeletal systems, calcium levels within cells, and cell motility.

These findings in embryonic stem cells may not bode well for attempts at procreation in microgravity.

I honestly can't fathom how this helps anyone except for the same music publishers who have raped us with their music prices for decades. You know what this really is?
